Portreti i sećanja jevrejske zajednice u Srbiji: intervju sa Andreom Palašti i Džejmsom Mejom

Abstract

Izložba "Portreti i sećanja" nastala je kao deo projekta Saveza jevrejskih opština Srbije pod nazivom "Portreti i sećanja Jevrejske zajednice Srbije pre Holokausta" i predstavlja digitalnu arhivu fotografija članova jevrejske zajednice Srbije iz perioda pre Drugog svetskog rata. Digitalna arhiva koja je deo građe Jevrejskog istorijskog muzeja u Beogradu broji kolekciju od skoro 5.000 digitalizovanih fotografija i oko 230 evidentiranih sećanja (priča) onih koji su preživeli rat i govori o životima ljudi koji su na fotografijama prikazani. Intervjue i digitalizaciju fotografija sprovodili su istraživači i saradnici na projektu, dok je prateći obrazovni program osmislila organizacija Haver Srbija. Izložba, predstavljena u Beogradu, Novom Sadu, Kragujevcu, Nišu, Šapcu, Subotici i Zrenjaninu, ukazuje na kompleksan odnos ličnog/kolektivnog sećanja na Holokaust i istorije jevrejske zajednice na prostoru Srbije između dva svetska rata. O samom projektu, izložbi, i odnosima umetnosti, arhiva i Holokausta u doba post-sećanja razgovaramo sa inicijatorom i menadžerom projekta Džejmsom Mejom (James May) i autorkom izložbe dr Andreom Palašti.

The exhibition "Portraits and Memories" was created as part of the project of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia entitled "Portraits and Memories of the Jewish Community of Serbia before the Holocaust" and is a digital archive of photographs of members of the Jewish community of Serbia from the period before the Second World War. The digital archive, which is part of the material of the Jewish History Museum in Belgrade, houses a collection of nearly 5,000 digitized photographs and about 230 recorded memories (stories) of those who survived the war and tells of the lives of the people depicted in the photographs. Interviews and digitization of photographs were conducted by researchers and contributors on the project, while the accompanying educational program was designed by Haver Serbia. The exhibition, presented in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Niš, Šabac, Subotica and Zrenjanin, points to the complex relationship of personal/collective memory of the Holocaust and the history of the Jewish community in Serbia between the two world wars. We talk about the project, the exhibition, and the relationship between art, archives and the Holocaust in the post-memory era with the initiator and project manager James May and the author of the exhibition, Dr. Andre Palašti.
